I was cruelly blind tasted on Trump wines.
They were surprisingly impressive.

Also SF Chronicle is just pay to play - everyone wins an award.

In the land of Virginia wine, Trump Winery is actually one of the better ones (in terms of the wine produced).

True that. He got a very well-built and heavily invested in facility for pennies on the dollar…like 8MM for a 200MM property. I was approached by the owner Patricia Kluge and offered their wines as close outs (IIRC, she divorced her husband or something and then got killed in 2008 financial meltdown)…I was surprised by the quality but had no idea what to do with 1000’s of cases of VA bubbly. The bubbles were pretty damn good though.
