About the Ciapusci Vineyard. The current list is showing 1901 but…
both the Edmeades web site & the bottle’s back label states that the vineyard was planted in 1878.
(oldest in the county). Of course Jess Jackson owns it.

Dispute what? They’re open about what fruit comes from what areas. An easy way to put it is it’s all one estate, but multiple vineyards. (It’s certainly not an AVA.)
Yes, some of the other wineries have put “Monte Bello” or “Montebello” on their labels (ie. Vidovich, Generosa, Fellom Ranch).
Discovered a new historic vineyard today - Gaddis, RRV, planted in 1903.
Chronicle Wines produces the zinfandel and it is reputed to be very good. Did you ever wonder what Ted Lemon (Littorai) could do with old vine zinfandel grapes? Here is your ticket:

Just got back from a journey away from wine, and have missed a couple weeks of comments.
Ridge’s Oat Valley Carignane came from the Cooley Ranch. I don’t recall a bottling since before 2000. Oat Valley is on Hiway 128 as it goes NW from Cloverdale toward the Anderson Valley. The Sink family are still there after arriving about 1858, and the Cooley family still own land there after arriving about 1867, but I think all the really old vines have been pulled out. But I have no hard knowledge. If I can get it, I will post it.
Good info Dave. The Ridge website tasting note archive has notes for '94, '95 & '96. I drank my last Oat Valley maybe 5-6 years ago but can’t remember anything special about it.
Mike, I spoke to someone from Ballentine Vineyards today, and they’ve got some OMV zin vines from 1908 - I gave him my card, so hopefully he can confirm and come on here himself to give the exact info.

Dal Porto – In the heart of Amador’s Shenandoah Valley, off Shenandoah School Road, the vineyard was planted in the 1920s by the Dal Porto family. About 8 acres of the original vineyards still provide excellent fruit for foothill wineries.
Upton – Sadie Upton’s 6-acre Zinfandel vineyard was planted in 1922. Located on the north side of Shenandoah Valley, Upton fruit goes into several Amador County Zinfandels including Karly Sadie Upton Zin. Sadie has passed on, but the family still owns and carefully farms the precious old vines.

Welcome Chris! The list shows Serracino planting as 1930. Is the top section you are using older than that (PKV website says 100 year old)? Looking forward to trying some of your new releases.
