Cabot Vineyards- Bringing in the new wines. Humboldt County Estate grown Syrahs, Zins, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Franc, plus our Brut Zero sparklings

Hi everyone. Were excited to offer a whole slew of new releases and newer wines for the inaugural Vindependence sale.
Cabot Vineyards is an all estate winery in Humboldt County. We have three estate vineyards. Two, in the inland Klamath River Valley, where we grow Syrah, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Franc, and one in Southern Humboldt on Fruitland Ridge, just 8 miles from the ocean, planted to 5 clones of Pinot Noir and a small block of Cabernet Franc. These are the northern most vineyards and winery in Ca. We grow all of our own fruit, organically, and with great attention to detail. Our vineyards are 20- 30 years in age, and mostly own rooted, which we believe gives the purest expression of each varietal and site. We ferment our wines with native yeasts, and age our wines in older, mostly neutral French oak barrels. Theyre bottled unfined and unflitered.
We have put together a “Vindependence” page on our store especially for this weekend, where youll find a dozen wines offered at a average 25% discount and a $20 flat rate shipping. So mix and match whatever youd like. The more you buy the more you save on shipping. Our website takes Paypal, but if youd prefer to Venmo me @John-Cabot-2, Id prefer that. Or email me with your order at johnjcabot3@gmail.com. Or text or call 707 496 5381.
To check out the offering and order, go to the Cabot Vineyards website
We may not be able to ship to AL, AK, KY, MS, UT, AR, RI, DE and MI. So please check with me if you are in one of these states.

Heres our list of offers

2022 Zinfandel, Humboldt- Picked at an average of 22.2 brix, this Zin is bright and acidic with pomegranate,
cranberry, alpine strawberry and pie cherry. It has a nice hint of pie crust on the long finish. 12.8% alc.
100 cases produced
Retail price $32 VDay price $24

2022 Zinfandel, Marier- two of our favorite barrels from 2022. These two literally brought me to tears.
12.7% alc, 45 cases produced
Retail $36 VDay $28

2019 Syrah, Humboldt- 2019 was a cooler year up here on the Klamath. These Syrahs were picked at an
average of 23.5 brix. It has nice olive brine, red fruits, pepper and iodine. Very Cornas in its character,
with a long persistent finish. 13.9% alc. 275 cases produced.
Retail $32 VDay $24

2021 Syrah Kimberlys- From our winery block of own rooted Syrah noir vines. This year’s Kimberly’s is a
classic, with its big, rich boysenberry, black raspberry, and beautiful acidity, to balance out the intense concentration. This is very similar to our 2006 version with loads of roasted meats, bacon fat, pepper and spice. The finish is incredibly long on this one. Truly one of our favorites ever. 14.2% alc, 220 cases produced
Retail $42 VDay $34

2021 Pinot Noir, Humboldt- Our 2021 Humboldt Pinot is a mix of Dijon clones 115, and 777, with Pommard 2A.
Its from Our Elk prairie vineyard in Southern Humboldt. The vines are 25 years in age and dry farmed.
This pinot is very red fruited with Bing cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Its juicy and light, with classic EP
orange peel, forest floor, and spice. 13.6% alc 200 cases produced
Retail $36 VDay $28

2022 Pinot Noir, Elk Prairie- We saw quite a bit of rain during flowering in 2022, which resulted in extremely
low yields of under 1 ton per acre. The season and fall were beautiful though and the tiny crop was able
to ripen slowly due to lower than normal fall temps. We harvested this in the last week of Oct at 24.5
brix. This one is concentrated! We aged it on 3 year old Rousseau, French oak barrels for 22 months
before bottling. 14,2% alc. 72 cases produced
Retail $42 VDay $35

2023 Cabernet Franc, Elk Prairie- This is our first release of Cab Franc from our Elk Prairie vineyard. This is
an extremely cool site for Cab Franc, being just 8 miles off the ocean. The vines were planted in 1999,
and are dry farmed and own rooted. This was picked at 20.1 brix on Oct 31. The stems and seeds were
fully ripe and the tannins amazingly resolved for such low sugars. This is very earthy in character, with
beautiful floral aromas of lavender and tobacco. Very much in a Chinon style, yet is not a pyrazine laden
wine at all. 12.0% alc 72 cases produced
Retail $42 VDAY $36

2019 Klamath Cuvee- This years cuvee is a very unconventional blend of 40% Syrah from Our winery block,
and 60% Pinot Noir from Elk Prairie. The marriage of these two unlikely partners was a revalation. We
had a lot of 100% whole cluster Pinot from EP that didnt quite fit into the final blends, so we said what
the hell, and added a lot of Kimberlys Syrah, and and bam! My buddy and winegrower Russell Marier
looked and me and we both were wide eyed and shocked at what a beauty we had come up with. Its
very CdP/CdR in character, with the stemmy Pinot giving it a Carignan feel, and the Syrah providing rich black
fruits. The finish is long with baking spices and pie crust. 13.9% alc. 275 cases produced
Retail $28 VDay $22

We are also throwing in our two sparkling wines from Anderson Valley for a special Vindependence day price

2014 Blanc de Blanc- $55
2016 Blanc de Blanc- $45

Hey john
Looking forward to purchase. Will you be able to hold the wine to ship during the fall/winter time? I am currently out of country and would hope this can be arranged.

Yes. We will be holding all orders until the weather cools in fall. Likely Oct.

Someone I know very well told me this wine is reminiscent of the famous ‘Bacon Fat’ 2006 Kimberly’s Syrah…but with more fruit profile

Yes sir! Its gonna be one for the ages.

In for six bottles of bubbles!

Love your Syrahs, John! I used to get them at the Co-Op in Eureka when we lived there. Delicious and balanced, an excellent representation of Humboldt!

I’m still saving my last bottle of '06 ‘Bacon Fat’ to try with @Robert.A.Jr @Charlie_Carnes @Jorge_Henriquez and @K_John_Joseph

The 2021 will give those who weren’t fortunate enough to be around for that crazy 2006 vintage to experience it in a few years, noice

Thanks Jason! Syrah seems to like these mountains.

John, can I put together a 6-pack that includes both still wines and sparklers (will that fit properly in one box)?

And is the 2016 Blanc de Blanc sold out?

Thanks!

Sure Terry. Mix and match as you’d like. I can get them in a six pack box just fine. I still have a good bit of the 16 as well.

Perfect. The 2016 sparkler doesn’t show up on the website. I’d like to include one of those, two of the 2014 BdB, and then three of the 2021 Syrah Kimberlys. Should I order the five that are on the website and you can then add one of the 2016 BdBs?

Sure. Sounds good. Thanks for calling my attention to the 16 not being on there. I missed that somehow.

Wonderful! Order has been placed (#00393). Of course I will still owe you for the bottle of 2016 BdB to be added to round out the 6-pack. Just let me know how to get that completed. Thanks again, John! :clinking_glasses: :wine_glass:

Pm sent.

How many cases of the BdBs do you have left? Always worried I’m going to miss my chance for a last refill before job sell your remaining bottles. If

I actually have quite a bit left. No hurry. It was my goal to have it as a treat for the Berserkers to buy and drink over the next ten years or so, as i feel they will age beautifully.
Though i did lower the price a bit for this sale so its worth taking advantage of. :champagne:
