This is a can’t miss for the grower crowd. Strong recommendation from Berserkerday.
Fine. You convinced me. I just ordered a 3-pack. I saw your other two glowing posts, and I figure if it’s worth posting three times, it must be good!
PSA: Cabot’s BerserkerDay offer on this wine is still live on their website.
Third time is a charm.
You can’t go wrong.
Sigh, in
Brig, thanks for the heads up. I put an order in.
Oh, thanks a lot @brigcampbell !
Love the note!
FMIII posted his notes in the champagne topic and the others that I had blinded. @John_Cabot jumps in there as well. @K_John_Joseph wrote up the first notes for the berserkerday offer but only posted there.
You can jump into chatter here with the start of Frank’s tasting note and then follow to the bottom.
It was really exciting to see such a fantastic showing.
Ordered 4 of each!
Brig, you are a bad influence - in for two 3-packs.
In a good way.
My wife would argue differently except she loves John Cabot.
I bought on this recommendation. Will post feedback here once I try them.

First let me start by saying that these are the two finest sparkling wines outside of France
Those are big words. Mine haven’t gotten here yet but there’s someone around here who swears by Lichen Grand Cuvée. Have you had that one?

Lichen Grand Cuvée. Have you had that one?
Missed this, sorry!
I have never tasted Lichen.
just placed an order for the Cabot - make or break for Brig’s reputation!
Going out tomorrow Guiermo!
Oops, wrote in the other thread. You might want to grab a bigger box for it
Maybe this is a better thread for this question. From the tasting notes I’ve seen these sound like no malolactic. Am I right about that?
Yes. This is no malo indeed. I will indeed repack it in a bigger box.

Watershed moment!
I’m ordering another 3 pack right now.
I’m going down swinging!

They’re really good, but really good for those with an open mind to the leaner, bonier, more acidic, more saline side of the Grower Brut Nature type Champagnes.
That’s not to say there is no fruit (though it’s deemphasized when the wine is at refrigerator or ice bucket temperature – this is a good one to follow @Frank_Murray_III 's advice and follow it as it warms in the glass), or that it’s no fun, or that it’s just for annoying hipster somms.
I’m just saying the appeal would be mostly to people who have an ability and willingness to appreciate that style of sparkling wine. It’s not going to remind of a mainstream Big House style at all.
With that caveat, I endorse these greatly. And if you don’t like it, then please make sure it’s Brig’s reputation and not mine which suffers the reputational harm.
