Seems like the reaction to the current mess in England is a plunging pound. A few months ago it was $1.33.
A lot of older stock is now basically selling at a serious discount.

So misogynist to attack a female PM
Back in the '70s a local wine company loaded up on French. and German wines in England. They had been purchased when the pound was strong. The economy in the UK sucked so merchants were happy to unload.
Nowadays the market is much more international. Wine merchants have stores in Asia, for example. I think people can still buy French wines excise tax free in Calais, where some companies have stores.

I’m going to Milan in a few weeks. Going to really enjoy my fave restaurants and their ever cheaper wine lists.

More importantly, does anyone have a good source for shipping to the US? Have wanted to buy in bond but have never found a good way to get the wine here.

This is precisely why politics should not be permitted in a wine post. I hate most politicians, male, female and undetermined equally, knowing that the fact that anybody who wants to go into politics, makes him/her totally unfitted to do so.
There are exceptions, but I will keep them to myself.

Connoisseur is the best I have found. Seabrookes is fine, but I have lost stock which was eventually found. Davis Turner was an awful experience.

I’m almost at a loss for words here. Why is it misogynistic to question a leader’s intelligence if that leader happens to be female? What does her gender have to do with her competence, or lack thereof? Also, you clearly don’t know Mark. I’d make a joke about how he questions intelligence without bias or prejudice, but that would be making light of your very ill-informed attack.

I’ve never bought wine overseas. Is the a price and quantify level that makes it worthwhile? I’d imagine I’d have to order several cases for it to make financial sense.

They do have great service though. I find Seabrook is very good and much less expensive.
I think around 5 cases is where it makes sense for the shipper. Figure with the current surcharges $12-15 a bottle, much less if you have a pallet (52 cases).

From the UK, £45 per case if you have a pallet. Used to be £35, but there’s been a surcharge since COVID. That’s just to their depot outside NYC. Refer transport to your home is extra and usually costs almost as much as the rate across the pond.
