Broken Neck While Opening Bottle

First time for me. The neck of the bottle broke off on the corkscrew while opening

Yikes. Only ever had bottles crack twice in 30+ years of wine geekdom, and it’s a scary experience.

We got a double whammy. First the corkscrew broke off while and my Wife was opening a new bottle, then she heard a “ping”, turned around and saw this.

Bad glass + overfill = more pressure. When I was on a bottling line, I had a couple bottles explode into me. Not fun.

Phew. At least it was the BOTTLE’s neck that broke

Of course they replaced the bottle. Excellent customer service.
