I stumbled across some full bourbon bottles from the 70’s. 3 are Elvis decanters from Mccormicks dated 1976 and 2 are duck decoy decanters from Hoffman dated 1978. Paper seals still intact on most of them. Seems like from searching online, if the liquid is not cloudy, it’s probably ok to drink. My question is more, is there a market for this kind of thing? Ebay has empty ones and they go for a few bucks, but I hate to just dump out the liquid and sell them empty.
You can most likely 90.9% drink it, lead is usually the concern, not the liquor going bad.
The question is should you drink it?
It probably will be jet fuel esque.
You probably can buy better whiskey these days for $20
There isn’t generally a market for these things in the liquor world…beyond the collectible value.
IMO you need to find an Elvis guy with a secondary love for whiskey who also will never drink it.
It can be tough to find that person.
Finding the Duck guy will be the problem. ,
