BOSTON Offline - Cafe Mangal, Wellesley, MA (Thursday 6/7)

I was in the process of decanting the Sagrantino and I took a small sip and something is definitely not right. I suspect corked but possibly flawed in some other way. Instead of risking a probably bad bottle I grabbed a 2003 Pontet Canet. Also checked it, and it’s fine. Fortunately it appears this producer didn’t exhibit some of the overripe characteristics of the vintage.

Great dinner Brian, thanks for organizing!

It was indeed a real embarrassment of riches. And the wine gods were smiling on us to boot, with no corked or other flawed wines. Even the two aged Fevres were sound! Thanks again Brian for organizing.

Also - Kevin - I think my wine of the night was your Z-H SGN. It’s the one I can’t stop thinking about today and that I feel like I can still taste.

A delicious evening! It was great meeting everyone!!!

Thanks for coming everyone! Had a great time
