I am heading to Bordeaux later this summer but would like to have some wine shipped in prior, does anyone know of a short term wine storage facility in Bordeaux?
I don’t know of one. And if you ship you will be liable to pay taxes.
I’d just bring it with you.
I would be buying it within France.
Ah well. I still don’t know. ![]()
Ship to your accommodation?
I’d offer that you ship it to our place but we are away much of summer.
Most storage facilities are for long term storage (i.e. annual contracts).
I second the recommendation to ship to your hotel. Call them and see if they have a temperature controlled wine cellar. At the least they will have a baggage storage area that is indoors, but room temperature. Though many places do not have air conditioning.
There aren’t really many (any?) long term storage options for the public.
People have cellars. On the whole.
There are some long term storage available to the public. But they require contracts, and are catering to local clients. I use two different ones in Paris. You can google “Stockage vin particulier bordeaux” and see the options for long term.
Doesn’t bring back much centrally catering to private individuals. I have never really looked but I have heard complaints from others - suffice to say its not like the US!
We ship to a collective storage in Paris for a couple of clients - more apartments there I suppose.
Thanks all, was hoping for some storage options similar to UK/US but that’s fine will just have them delivered to the AirBNB
