Booking a car in Champagne - where is the TGV station?

I’ve been googling the crap out of the TGV station in Reims and cant find it on a map.

I was going to rent with Avis and they say this is their office in Reims: Railway Station Gare SNCF, Reims, P2Y

Is that the station I’ll arrive in from Paris?

The TGV from Paris Est takes you to Reims. The Reims train station is in the midst of construction and a mess. Auto Europe, Hertz, Avis and Europe Car are near the station (down and around the block) but not contiguous. Be sure to get directions to the rental desk of the rental company that you will be using. And their on-site phone number for when you get lost trying to find them. Other than that, you will be fine.

Thanks Mark!!

I recently upgraded to the Blackberry Tour so will be able to use it and things like Google maps for navigation, but great advice re: the number!

I should have been more clear. The station and the access street(s) are under construction. Lots of street construction in Reims. The car rental agencies are all in temporary locations and not easily accessed or visible.

Be careful, there are 2 TGV stations in (or near) Reims. One is Gare Centrale (place de la gare, Reims) and the other is Gare Champagne Ardenne (Nouvelle Route de Sacy
51430 Bezannes - about 4 miles from downtown Reims). I’m not sure there are many rental agencies at Champagne Ardenne, in any case check the address of the rental agency to make sure it’s near the train station where you will arrive.

Hi Peter,

Looks like Mark, Michel and Guillaume have given you all the info on the railway stations

If you have any other questions I’d be pleased to help if I can, so just ask

From mid February I will be living (again) in Champagne and will be on the spot to help. Recommend champagne house visits, introduce you to several smaller makers, restaurants, hotels etc Will also be running a luxury Bed & Breakfast - in short please get in touch if you need.
