Hi
With Mondays release im curious if anyone has tasted the EBA versions of the wines, particularly Fracture
Is there significant difference, im thinking the age wil help mellow things out but im also concerned about to much oak being introduced
Alan
For the 2010’s, I had both the normal and EBA of the Oublie and Vertigo. I liked the Oublie EBA and normal about the same. I know I drank them before most would recommend, but I’ve found them pretty tasty young. I liked the normal of the Vertigo better than the EBA, so I don’t know what that says. Most likely that I need more data points.
Alan, I usually drink the EBAs before my regular wines of the same vintage. I don’t find any extra oak in the EBAs, rather, the extra air exposure makes them rounder, more open, more approachable.
The extra age definitely mellows them out. Both are great, but the EBAs are always ready to go right out of the gate.
Ordered a mixed case
I love big Paso GSM’s so im hoping that these are approachable on release and live upto the 2012 hype
Ordered a mixed case of reds & 1/2 case of the Sweet Petit Manseng.
Wish I could’ve gone deeper, but soooo many offers this week… I got some Ripper as that is truly unique. Would’ve liked to try that sticky tho…
With the price of great sweet Bordeaux so low is it a good idea to pay that much for a new Cali Sweet wine ?
I guess I’ll find out, Eh ? ![scratch [scratch.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/4/42a16863a8714da3c1604419e3eb9206bb87aa50.gif)
