Okie dokie, Mike. Ya think maybe I was referring to the part about opening it up to other countries and regions “if we can’t get enough Napa involved?” [ok.gif]
2005 Hartwell Merlot for me…

No problem.
Sorry about the black eye, but after you flamed me I just went berserk!
We’ll pop an '02 Duckhorn. -mJ
I’m not drinking any Fu…oh wait…I will for this…Jessup of some year or another…
JACK
And if they want to drink Merlot,
we’re drinking Merlot.
HUMBERTO
(dead serious)
If anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving.
I am not drinking any f–ing Merlot!
JACK
Okay, okay. Relax, Berto, Jesus (where!!). No
Merlot. Did you bring your Xanax?
Humberto takes a small bottle from his pocket and rattles it

count me in with a 99 Pride

Are you still taking your Xanax?
Yes, and Lexapro… -mJ
Cellar Tracker confirms what I thought. We have exactly zero bottles of Merlot, Napa or otherwise.

What do say we include a Paloma, such as 2001 or 2004?

Okay. I’m in with a Central Coast Cabernet Franc, Xanax and a chaser of Wellbutrin.
Jack Bulkin:I’m in big. I still have 96-97 Pahlmeyers, 01-04 Blankiet, Pride Clarets from 96-02 and Mountaintops and others. I’m thinking 97 or 99 Pride Claret.
I have Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red, if that counts as ‘Merlot’…it’s a Bordeaux Blend, technically, but it appears Jack is stretching the task a bit to include clarets, so I’m covered if we go that route.
Boss, The Claret is primarily merlot. Proprietary Red primarily Cabernet.

Nice, try, but you just met up with your own
I’m sure I can find something on a middle shelf at Trader Joe’s. I’m going tomorrow so I’ll let you know when I get back.

Skip the middle shelf - that’s the pricey stuff. Go low.
SBR won’t deliver in time so I’ll find something else to pop.
we have a Venge Reserve we can pop, I can’t remember the vintage off
the top of my noggin, It might be the same vintage as what Todd’s popping,
I’ll udate when I figure it out.
This thread reminded me that I do not own a single bottle of California Merlot. Not an issue in terms of the virtual tasting since I’m off wine for awhile, but still …
I used to dislike California Merlot, but now I’m a little intrigued. I’ll look forward to the Berserker tasting notes.
