Blend your own wine experience? Napa & Sonoma

Going up to Napa and Sonoma in a couple months with the in-laws.

They’ve never been so I want to plan a great trip for them. A friend recently told me they enjoyed and were pleasantly surprised by the “Blend Your Own” experience at Justin in Paso, so I thought a similar experience might be a fun thing to do.

Has anyone done one of these experiences and and/or know of wineries that offer this?

Something like this could end up borderline gimmicky because small wineries aren’t likely to offer this sort of thing, but curious if anyone has any ideas/leads!

Thanks!

Raymond offers a “winemaker for a day” session, also Judd’s Hill offers a blending session. Have not attended either.

Del Dotto used to do this.
Haven’t heard about it recently though.

Many years ago, we did a blending seminar with Insignia components at Joseph Phelps. That was very fun and educational. No idea if they still offer that.

We did it once at Quintessa. Not sure if it’s a regular thing for their private tastings but you can surely ask.

Years ago we did it at Ovid; I didn’t care for it. I had the that’s-what-I’m-paying-you-guys-for mentality.

Great recommendations all, thank you!

Looks like they still have it for $150. I’m honestly surprised given the LMVH acquisition, Phelps pricing, and the ever increasing Napa fees at how relatively “reasonable” this appears.

That sounds pretty baller

Was fun, took my folks for their 60th Anniversary.

That does seem reasonable in the context of today’s tasting fees. It was free for members at the time, but that was early on in my wine journey…
