I read somewhere that Julia Child’s favorite wine on a hot summer day was a gin and tonic. Quite right. Well, I had one hell of a bad day recently and found the perfect wine to carry me into evening.
I would have gone with scotch.

I rediscovered Patron last week while in Costa Rica. Since the wine situation was so awful, beer and patron became the pool/beachside beverage of choice. And a fine choice it is.
Aged single malt for the truly tough ones, and gin and tonics for the truly hot ones.

You know, people complain about me liking fruit wines and others liking high alcohol 14%+ ABV bombs yet here you are indulging in a CACTUS wine that far surpasses any Cali Pinot Noir or overdone Sauternes. Hmph. Double standards.

I find that cactus based wines have enough minerality and acidity (salt is a mineral after all, and limes are damn acidic!) to stand up to high alcohol levels!
