Where are the best places to buy wine retail in and around the Treasure Island, FL area (St. Petersburg)?
Huge online retailer, I think they have a storefront too.
While B-21 is excellent, they are over an hour’s drive north of TI and it’s not a fun drive.
If you come to the mainland, there’s a Total Wine in the Bay Pines area and several small stores on Central Avenue - none of these compare to B-21 but they’re closer.
There is also a Luekens store in Seminole (you can access its inventory on-line to see if you think it’s worth the trip - probably 40 minutes from TI).
And Tampa has a few good stores in south Tampa, especially Redneck Wines. Probably 50 minutes drive depending on time of day.
Unless you’re going to shop local, driving times are variable; this is the most densely populated county in FL. And “rush hours” are anything but.
BTW, if you’re staying for more than a day or two, downtown St. Pete is worth a look - sort of upscale Bourbon Street. And there’s a trolley which eliminates parking problems and DUI’s.
B-21’s shipping is a steal
The wine dept. at Mazzaro’s Italian Market has a great selection of Italian wines and a lot of other good stuff and even high end stuff. A couple months ago they had DRC Echezeaux, Único, Dujac and others on the shelf. 10% mixed case discount. They are about 20 minutes from Treasure Island. The store is incredibly crowded no matter what time you go but the wine area is usually not that crowded.
adding Mazzaro’s closes at 5pm and at 2:30pm on Saturday. Closed Sunday
