Best Small Rack For Closet

Hello,

I’m trying to maximize the amount of bottles I can store in a 32” wide by 19” tall closet space. Short of stacking all the bottles directly on one another, what are the best options to maximize the storage capacity of this space?

I’ve been using Weinboxes for all my bulk storage and it has been working well. Not exactly a rack, but each end has a little door that you can use to access the bottles within without needing to unstack. I have a nice stack in my closet, smallest footprint i’ve found for case-size storage. Also makes transferring to off-site easier.

Those boxes are pretty cool! They would be perfect for overflow bottles that I can’t fit in my cellar (a current problem I have after fall alotments have rolled in).

If looking for a quick and simple option that keeps the bottles visible, I bought a DIY kit from amazon. It works well enough. You can make custom sizes/shapes. Search for J.K. Adams wine racks. They have multiple options, 12 - 80 bottles.

If your handy build something yourself. Cut some dado joints in 2x4’s, and then anchor some 1x4’s between in them to cover the width. with 2-3 inch deck screws. Leave 4 inches between joints. One for the front and one for the back Then run 1x2’s from front to back on 4 inch centers. I’d go 25 inches deep for double depth racking. You should be able to get 14 bottles per tier(7 across) in a double deep setup.

My space was bigger (maybe 3 feet by 6 feet) but when I wanted to put wine in that space I went with Wine Racks America. Many different sizes and I was able to jam quite a bit in there as a result.
