Mark, poll is for “Best”, not “Grossest”. hahaha
Me no love spleen
Mebee, but French fries in a sandwich is gross
P. Willenberg: Tom G l a s g o w:I love cheesteaks but it’s a Philly speciality. Pittsburgh is a wasteland for good sandwiches.
not a fan of Primanti Bros? Maybe that’s a tourist trap but I thought it captured the spirit of Pittsburgh well.

What are yinz talkin’ about?. I’m from The Burgh, and have scarfed many a Primanti Bros… I actually stop a lot at the Ft. Lauderdale one for nostalgia. But I do have to admit the fries aren’t great on a sandwich. They actually do better on a burger, but still might as well be on the side. In my days, the best sandwiches in Pittsburgh were hoagies.

Whadya mean grossest? The crunchy tongue and creamy brain go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Other = “Boxing Day Sandwich”
Cold Roasted Turkey, Lemon / Parsley Stuffing, touch of Cranberry Sauce between slices of good sourdough, covered in the Turkey Gravy. Optional very thinly sliced gherkins for crunch.

Maybe its me, but I remember sandwiches from the original Primanti’s in the Strip (Cheese Steak with Bacon & Egg!) as being incredible when I lived there in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s.
In recent years, I’ve been to locations in both Florida and Monroeville, PA and thought they were profoundly awful.
