Fantastic!
Pop one open and report back!
I was hoping this would be sold out by the time I got to it, but alas….six pack ordered
Having them hold till October
It’s hard not going back for another order!
wine.com flash sale, another weak attempt by wine.com, but just in case:
Members, your codes are live:
MEMBERS40 ($40 off $200),
MEMBERS90 ($90 off $400),
MEMBERS200 ($200 off $800)
WINEDAY2026 gets non-stewardship members 100 off 300 if they add stewardship on top of the 300, plus a discounted rate on stewardship (edit - perhaps not the latter). I clicked on that and Capital One hit me with a 90 back on 150, so I bit. We’ll see if the CapOne actually comes through.
Apologies if I’m misreading, but how’d you get discounted membership separate from the promo?
I just used the promo and the membership showed up in my cart at a discounted price.
I wonder, though (based on the way it’s showing up). I think what happened is that I was charged full price for the membership but part of it went down as “shipping” on the order, which hasn’t been charged to me yet (since I’m delaying shipping for weather), and the difference was charged to me now. So I suspect the difference between the full price and what I was charged today will hit my card as “shipping” in the fall. But they are a bit less than clear.
Looks like they really limited what wines those codes work on. Bummer.
Wow, pretty much everything is either >30% over market price, or ending in a .97, or both.
Burgundy section is even worse. $690 for a bottle of Grivot CV that Flickinger is selling for $275.
What a sad crash and burn.
Am I the only one who thinks winetext.com is really good at the moment? 2020 Franco Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino, for $29.99 with free shipping with build a case seems very solid to me. Their deals on Oregon pinots this year have been first rate as well. I get there are better offers out there, like the Newton cabs, but getting one text a day is certainly easier than searching and it takes me back to the old Cinderella Wine days.
