They are supposed to pay you within 45 days of the purchase. My understanding is that you sometimes have to hound them a bit to get them to pay. I’ve had two payments go through, but another one has never shown as pending. When I asked them they basically said that if it authorized it will pay within 45 days, regardless of whether it shows as pending. So I’ll have to keep an eye on it, which is annoying. Rakuten runs much more smoothly, paying monthly, but their discounts are typically not as good.
Yes, that seems to be the way it goes. I had a few in a row where the day after placing an order on wine.com I got an email from RMN acknowledging the purchase and it showed up as pending in my payments. I’ve had a couple since that haven’t shown up after several weeks. The website says to wait the 45 days for it to show up so I’ll be patient but I have the activation email from RMN and the immediately following purchase receipts from wine.com.
I activated RMN offers for Wine.com on 5/19 and ordered from Wine.Com later that same day. Offers show as activated in my RMN account, but nothing about Wine.com telling RMN that I made a purchase. It hasn’t bee 45 days so I’ll try to be patient.
Astor has 15% off burgundy and Beaujolais. Decent deals on things ranging from drc to daily drinkers. 09 and 15 rsv decent deals as well as rc if you’re into that.
To beat the system further, apply for the AMEX Cash Magnet card. You get a $200 statement credit after spending $1000 in the first 3 months. No annual fee. So another 20% off wine stacked on top of all of the wine.com and WineAccess deals. I’ll just cancel my card once the $200 statement credit hits.
For AMEX though? Because that’s the only way you get the additional $50 off $150 on WineAccess, with an AMEX.Good point about not closing it right after with no annual fee - maybe I’ll let it hang around in my desk for a bit.
In the good ol days, “churning” cards meant applying for the same card over and over (or even sometimes twice at once in different browsers) and loading up on welcome offers. Used to be possible to get 200k AA miles like every month. Also the good ol days of AA miles being worth something…
Still do it but have not every month. Join and get bonus. Refer wife. Get referral bonus and she gets bonus. Drop card after the points and do it again in 2 years.
