Best for me is winebuyer.com as they offer free shipping on many items to MN. Just got my first order today and won’t be the last. 2012 La Rioja Alta Ardanza for $29.99 is only worth ordering a case.
was browsing at Zachys and found another code “VINTAGEIT15” for a specific Italian wines from 2015, I ended up picking Amarone di Valpolicella Riserva Ca’ Florian Tommasi 2012
when I log in with my user I had in my cart another wine: “I Sodi di San Niccolo Castellare di Castellina 2017” it turns out that for some reason the code was applied on both wines at a higher rate for San Nicolo, msg that shows in cart is: “Discount (509121 -Secret, in cart only pricing , VINTAGEIT15 - 15% Off)” so I left only the san nicolo on the cart and discount still valid…doing some math the San Niccolo ended up priced by $65, not bad…
Sometimes those meta layers blow up Amex Offers. Literally just had *TST which is the Toast processor blow up a (minor) Amex Offer a day or so ago. Also had a Google Pay offer which was supposed to stack with a network offer (which worked) not work a couple of weeks ago. Basically the farther one gets away from a front end discount and is relying on back end stuff from processors, portals, or banks, the more glitches/risk there is.
EDIT: added later, after poking around the PayPal app. It appears these WDC ‘offers’ are just PayPal’s own version of a portal, which credits the user in Pay Pal points. So it would not be stackable with other portals. I had assumed it was some kind of deal where, if one paid with PayPal while checking out, they would get some kind of reward. That was what I was noting was a risk for the Amex Offers, which Amex at least notes can be a risk for some merchant offers.
Following up on this. I got an email, to the email account I have used with prior Wine Access purchases, offering me 20% off for a limited time. When I clicked on the link, the banner at the top said 20% off on your first order. Nonetheless, when I added 3 of the 2012 GA to my cart, it pulled up my prior account including shipping info, reflected the 3 bottle price and the 20% off. The total price was $108/bottle, shipping included, which is a screaming deal (if you like the Bolly style). Couldn’t pass it up.
Having said that, I would not have created a new email account to masquerade as a first-time customer. They obviously knew I was not, and gave me the discounted price, so I feel comfortable with the purchase.
CELEBRATE30 ($30 off $150)
DHOL20 ($20 off $50 new customers only)
NEW2021 ($20 off $100)
25PS75 ($25 off $75)
YT50 ($50 off $150 new customers only)
JB20 ($20 off $50)
20JB ($20 off $50)
Curious to how those codes work for wine.com. Do you buy the $50 worth and then buy another $50 worth? If so do they box all of your order to save on shipping a case vs. a few bottles?
Also how is their shipping cost in relation to other online retailers?
