Best Bargain Champagne

Extremely helpful…Thanks!!

They also have a Grand Cru Rosé Champagne NV Nicolas Maillart, anyone have any experience with it?

Any thoughts on these discount selections? Just looking for beach champagne. Appreciate all the input I have received.

Nicolas Maillart Platine Premier Cru Champagne Brut NV @ $27.99/bottle

Champagne Philippe Prié Brut Tradition @ $24.99/bottle

Grand Cru Rosé Champagne NV Nicolas Maillart @ $29.99/bottle

Philippe Fourrier 2010 Cuvée Millésime Champagne @ $29.99/bottle

Baron-Fuenté Esprit Champagne Grand Cru Brut NV @ $29.99/bottle

Champagne Brut Premium Reserve NV Charles Mignon @ $29.99/bottle

Nick, I liked the Maillart Platine. Fourrier NV was fine but unremarkable. Prie and Baron-Fuente I’d skip.

Neither my wife nor I are Champagne drinkers and I certainly don’t need another wine to chase. But my wine buddy neighbors do like it so I’m trying to find decent values that won’t disappoint them so this thread is helpful.

I took a flyer on the recent Envoyer offer on the Gosset Grand Reserve Brut NV as it seemed to be well regarded. Anyone here familiar with it? Thoughts? Thanks!

Smart move, its a super bottle. Try and keep it for a year or two to settle down, it ages beautifully. They do extensive in bottle aging though so it’ll still be great when fresh.

Bear in mind the impact of lightstrike if you are drinking this outdoors and in the sun - it happens in a matter of minutes with champagne in direct sunlight and at that point it probably won’t matter what you have bought.

Out of those however, the Charles Mignon is the easy winner for me.

Bump. Ran across this in some notes I had. Any new thoughts on bargain Champagnes?

The Gosset is a great wine for the price, and a really nice one irrespective of price!

Jose Michel (rose)
L. Aubry (standard)

kinda weird to reply to a 6 year old post, especially regarding price, but that’s a great deal - you should stock up!

Ha! Not weird; just oblivious. I should look at the dates but never do.

Well US$50 is tougher than a few years ago, but the following might just be findable:

Roederer 242
Roederer 244 (but not 243 which is a level below)
Mousse Fils Eugene

Laherte Freres ‘Rose de Meunier’ Extra Brut
Veuve Fourny & Fils Premier Cru Brut Rose (maybe a touch over 50)
