Have you been to Lompoc?? I’m sure there are cheaper, but they may charge by the hour as well.
I will look later at other options in the area, but when traveling with the Berserker Princess, cheap is a recipe for disaster.
I booked ahead and can always cancel if better options are found later.
Happy wife, Happy life.
Sadly, nothing in wine country is inexpensive. Overall, hotel rooms in Lompoc are generally lower than surrounding areas. Here’s a quick list of some things I found on the web:
Days Inn $76
Embassy Suites $189
Travelodge $69
Quality Inn $110
Holiday Inn Express $115
Best Western $139
America’s Best Value $79
Motel 6 $69
I’d like to have you guys all come to dinner here at Full of Life Flatbread either the Friday or Sunday night before or after… which would work best? Maybe use it as an icebreaker? Or a hangover curer? We can take over the outside patio, or take over one of the family tables in the dining room. Anyone interested? Or is Cris the only one interested and he and I will have to have a romantical dinner?? :\
If you value your sanity, do not…I repeat do not…stay at the Travelodge. The Holiday Inn Express is brand spanking new and is even cleaner and brighter than the Embassy Suites. (I know, I live there but have stayed at most of these).
I would rather wake up in a cow pasture butt naked with animal carcasses around me than stay at the Lompoc Travelodge
GREAT to see Brian take the lead on this - and have it be down here and not up in Paso (no offense to Paso - I just am more partial to this area ) . . .
The only potential ITB wrench would be the Family Winemakers event down in Del Mar - it was about that same weekend in 09 - and they have not announced their 2010 dates yet . . .
Considering how much wine will be consumed the night before, I think that there will be many Motel rooms that look like that in Lompoc on Sunday morning March 14th.
I’m in.
