I’d suggest going with States to keep it simple, but if the Committee finds a specific state (ie California) has too many producers give them discretion region or AVA there instead?
It’s hard to answer whats best until you see where all the producers are.
#BD15OG for some of the longstanding participants (? How many years though?) Other ways to find them too but there are a number that many of us purchase from repeatedly.
Here’s our current list - I’d like to finalize it within the next day or so, and, of course, I can’t have every possible subject with its own tag - just need to cover the bases.
Do the Napa, Sonoma, Paso, and Santa Barbara tags cover all the California wineries participating? If not, would a #BD15California tag be helpful?
Where would a winery like Red Newt fit in? I don’t see a geographic tag that would fit, or a Riesling tag, or even a generic #BD15White tag. (Red Newt might not have made the cut this year, but you get the idea.)
I’m not saying that every winery needs to be tagged, but if tags are meant to increase visibility, I’d hate to see some vendors left out.
While I love Red Newt (bought a bunch in BD14), my feeling is that the tags are there to group like things when there are many of them (more for organizational purposes than for discovery purposes). Red Newt might be the perfect example where any tags we create would only yield one result, which sort of defeats the purpose of the tag, in my view.
