The short version is that they’re all their own thing, so you’ll see many variations.
In some cases, you will order via a web link, which may or may not be accessible through the producer’s main web page.
In other cases, there may be a coupon or discount code that needs to be applied.
Other producers (especially smaller ones) will ask you to email them directly, and they will reach out subsequently for shipping and payment information.
So, bottom line, it works in different ways depending on what works for that producer, but it is ultimately pretty straightforward. I have ordered via all these different routes, never had a problem that I can recall.
You may see some hiccups, in which some producer’s web sites have difficulty with the traffic or handling the new orders, but that usually gets worked out over the course of the first day.
The link to the raffle goes to a 2022 event. Is there a raffle this year?
Thanks for finding that - corrected, and ABSOLUTELY we will do this again - it was so fun! And adding the charity component meant a lot to me
What % would you say are non-wine businesses??
This year, I’d say 10-15%
Do you have a charity in mind this year?
A repeat, but a worthy one.
This is the exact right way to look at it. And I manage to save more and more each year!
So I am quite active on Mastodon and wanted to post a little preview of BD there - guess who is very active in the wine hashtag?
is it us???
What is Mastodon?
It’s where us hip kids hang out instead of Twitter (or birdsite as we say)
Growing like crazy post Elon, small but growing wine topics and ….
Mark Squires posts there. (Hehe)
Ps - happy to help folks get onto Mastodon — it’s completely noncommercial, no ads, real conversations, no algorithm but way higher engagement)
“Blood Mountain” is a motherf**kin’ masterpiece, but I don’t know what that has to do with wine.
Glad I’m not the only one with monster riffs and ferocious drum fills running through my head every time I see Mastodon!
This is my first BD. Probably wont go crazy due to budget but I will be sure to join in the fun! Cant wait!
haha I am in the same boat.
I’d be interested in learning about Mastadon if you can point me in the right direction.
I recommend you re-budget then because myself and everyone I know has said the same thing on our first BD (and all subsequent years as well) and then can’t resist b/c there are sooooo many good offers.
I pinned this globally to be sure everyone knows about BerserkerDay - obviously this is more geared toward the lurker or visitor, but as you mega-users all know, once you read it it unpins, or you can click the pin itself and it unpins
@Rodrigo_B @Dan_Bast_an – should we do a BD14 live offline at Noreetuh? Starting at 5 or 6pm?
