Tonight’s ‘light’ supper was Beef Gyoza (potstickers) with Ponzu & Gyoza sauces. Eight Gyoza each was the serving. These were served with seven slices each of Unagi Kabayaki (BBQ’d River Eel) and lightly pickled ginger. All was much enjoyed with a Rihaku ‘Wandering Poet’ junmai ginjo sake - dry, fruity, and rich.
Then for dessert we each had three small scoops of Ciao Bella gelato - vanilla, chocolate, & chocolate-hazelnut with creamy caramel and rich dark chocolate sauces. Carollee just had water while I had a small snifter of Hennessey’s VS Cognac. A very enjoyable evening with outside temperatures dropping to near freezing.
