Barbaresco – A Close Look at 2019 & 2020 (AG)

Vinous - AG great article and reviews.
Interesting to learn that 2020 is maybe even better than 2019.
Good to find La Ca’Nova so high and appreciated again.
Intriguing to try Produttori Barbaresco Riserva 2016 multi vineyard.

Glad to hear there are a couple good vintages in a row. Any unexpected winners in the lineup?

Kerin O’Keefe posted on her IG this morning that she gave a 100pts to the 2019 Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Rio Sordo.

Galloni gave 2019 Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Rio Sordo 93…:pensive:

Weird that they’re release at different time than the normal riservas

Ian D’Agata shared his thoughts about 2019 together with a review of some of Ca Baio’s wines.
There is quite a bit more to read but this gives an idea of his thoughts:

“ 2019 vintage is, to this point in time at least, one of the top three Barbaresco vintages of the twenty-first century. As a general indication, they are classic wines in the mold of 2016, with slightly less structure but more fruit-forward charm and immediate appeal than that vintage’s great wines. If there is one thing that I especially like about the best 2019 Barbarescos is the silkiness of the tannins…”.
