We’re super excited to be participating in our first VinDependence - what has quickly become another great Wine Berserkers tradition. If you’ve been around BerserkerDay for a while, you already know we love a good excuse to raid the library.
Summer is one of the few times of year we have a chance to dig through the library and open bottles we’ve been meaning to revisit. More often than not, someone ends up saying, “We should have made more of this.” VinDependence seemed llike the perfect excuse to share a few of those bottles before they’re gone.
It’s also one of the very few times each year we offer pricing like this. We save these kinds of library discounts for the Wine Berserkers community because you’ve always appreciated what makes Baer special—well-made Washington wines that reward a little patience.
Baer Winery was founded in 2000 with one clear goal: to handcraft age-worthy Washington wines from exceptional vineyard sites. Today, our flagship wines come exclusively from Stillwater Creek Vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA of the Columbia Valley—a remarkable site that consistently produces the balance, structure, and longevity that define the Baer style.
Over the past 25 years, Baer has earned Wine Enthusiast Editor’s Choice and Cellar Selection honors, Northwest Wine Report Critics Choice and Cellar Stocker awards, and twice landed on the Wine Spectator Top 100. But our favorite compliment is still hearing from someone who opens a bottle ten years later and says, “I’m glad I waited.”
That’s really what this event is about.
Rather than chasing the newest vintage, we’re celebrating wines that have had the time to become themselves.
Because it’s July, all orders will need to be held as futures and shipped this Fall when temperatures are safe for wine. We’d much rather have you wait a few extra weeks than risk your wines taking an unwanted sauna ride in the back of a UPS truck. (But if you’re local you can message us for pick-up.)
To keep things simple (and because our winemaker, Erica, talked us out of overcomplicating it!), every library case is just $199, plus $20 flat-rate shipping, no matter how many cases you order.

2017 Arctos Cabernet Sauvignon
94% Cabernet Sauvignon • 6% Petit Verdot
Our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from an outstanding Washington vintage. Rich black plum, cassis, cedar, and savory olive notes are layered over a plush, velvety texture. Powerful without being heavy, this wine has developed beautiful complexity while retaining remarkable freshness.

2017 Star Merlot
89% Merlot • 11% Cabernet Franc
A beautifully balanced Star showing ripe black cherry, roasted herbs, cocoa, and savory complexity. Time has softened the tannins while preserving freshness, making this one of our favorite library Merlots to drink today.

Now entering a wonderful drinking window, the 2015 Arctos offers black currant, plum, cedar, dried herbs, and polished tannins. Fully integrated, elegant, and ready to enjoy over the next several years.

2014 Ursa - SOLD OUT
Cabernet Franc • Merlot
One of our favorite mature library wines. Dark cherry, bay leaf, espresso, and graphite lead into a graceful palate with resolved tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. If you enjoy aged Washington Bordeaux-style blends, this is a terrific value.
