Baer Winery BD 17 - 3 and 6 Bottle Collections for Newbies and Screaming Case Deals for Fans to Stock the Cellar with WA Reds

Hi Berserkers!

WHERE WE STAND TODAY . . .

In light of the current national climate and uncertainty facing many communities, Baer Winery stands in support of Washington’s vineyard workers and the families who depend on this industry. Winemaking in our state is built on the skill, dedication, and hard work of professional vineyard teams—many of whom are immigrants and multi-generational stewards of the land—and we respect and value their essential role in our shared success.

Small wine businesses are facing real and growing challenges. While we understand the frustration many feel with larger systems, we have chosen to move forward with participating in BerserkerDay— once-a-year, one-day sale—in order to support the continued viability of our winery and the livelihoods connected to it.

NO ICE IN OUR WINE

Baer Winery was founded in 2000 in Woodinville, Washington, with one clear goal: to hand-craft age-worthy, Bordeaux-inspired red wines from exceptional Washington vineyard sites. Today, our flagship wines are sourced exclusively from Stillwater Creek Vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA of the Columbia Valley—a site we’ve worked with for many years and one that consistently delivers balance, structure, and longevity, staying true to the Baer house style.

Over the past 25 years, Baer wines have earned consistent acclaim, including Wine Enthusiast Editor’s Choice and Cellar Selection, Northwest Wine Report Critics Choice and Cellar Stocker, and twice being named to the Wine Spectator Top 100.

You’ll find Baer on the tables of fine restaurants and curated wine shops across the U.S. and Canada—but just as often, these wines are being opened at home by longtime fans and new Berserkers alike. They’re built to age, yet generous and expressive right out of the gate.

With more than 1,680 CellarTracker reviews averaging north of 90 points, the track record speaks for itself. And now that Dry January is in the rearview mirror, BerserkerDay is the perfect time to stock the cellar (and maybe open one tonight).

This year, we’re digging deep into the library with a mix of verticals, samplers, and sharply priced case deals—something for those just discovering Baer and for longtime fans looking to reload.

Star Merlot Vertical — 2016 / 2017 / 2018 (3-Pack)

One bottle each of the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Star Merlot, offering a great look at how vintage conditions shape this cornerstone Baer wine.

The 2016 vintage, from a warm and even growing season, shows generous black cherry, plum, and cocoa with a broad, polished palate. 2017 brings more aromatic lift and freshness, with red currant, graphite, and savory herbal notes layered over firm structure. 2018, a near-ideal vintage, combines ripe fruit concentration with excellent natural acidity, resulting in the most balanced and age-worthy wine of the three.

Élevage is approximately 22 months in French oak (about 50–60% new), lending subtle spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit. These wines are expressive now, with plenty of runway ahead.

ABV: ~14.5%
Regular Price: $150
BD17 Price: $79

Ursa Flagship Sampler — 6-Pack

(2 bottles each of 2018, 2019, 2020 Ursa – Cabernet Franc / Merlot)

Ursa is Baer’s flagship blend and a benchmark expression of Cabernet Franc and Merlot from Stillwater Creek Vineyard.

2018 is plush and balanced, with dark cherry, cassis, and tobacco framed by fine-grained tannins. 2019 brings added depth and structure, showing black fruit, espresso, and savory herbal complexity with strong cellar potential. 2020, from a warmer year, is the most immediately expressive, offering ripe blackberry, mocha, and spice with a round, generous mouthfeel.

All three vintages were aged approximately 22–24 months in French oak (about 55% new), emphasizing structure and longevity while preserving freshness.

ABV: ~14.6%
Regular Price: $360
BD17 Price: $169
