Suffix Pinot Noir Six-Pack from Patricia Green Cellars
Over the years at Patricia Green Cellars we have humorously (in our minds anyway) dedicated ourselves to having our top Pinot Noirs associated with a word with an –ious suffix. We have four wines that have been monikered with that suffix. These are the top wines we have ever produced. We are offering a six-pack of wines that include all of the bottlings. Four of the wines are from our library and no longer available and one of the wines has yet to be released (the winner of this auction item will literally be the first person to purchase this wine. This is a unique six-pack of wine that can’t be repeated without breaking into either my wine cellar or the warehouse the winery uses. The wines (and prices at release) that will make up this one-of-a-kind six-pack are as follows:
2008 Nefarious Pinot Noir ($85)
2009 Mysterious “Vineyard” Pinot Noir ($100)
2014 Mysterious “Vineyard” Pinot Noir ($100)
2014 Freedom Hill Vineyard Perspicacious Cuvee Pinot Noir ($150)
2012 Notorious Pinot Noir ($85)
2010 Notorious Pinot Noir ($70)
Notorious: This is our most distinct wine each vintage. A selection of barrels across our best vineyards chosen from a particular winemaking technique makes up the wine. The composition can and does vary greatly year to year however the richness of aromatics, density of fruit and depth of structure does not. This is always a very, very striking wine. The 2010 was given 94 points from The International Wine Cellar. The 2012 was given 95 points.
Mysterious: This is a single vineyard bottling that we have been fortunate enough to get the fruit for on only two separate occasions. We are compelled to sign a non-disclosure agreement when we sign the fruit purchase agreement so we are not allowed to use or market the name of the vineyard site. Suffice it to say it is one of the greatest Pinot Noir sites in the Dundee Hills and the wines are simply incredible. The 2009 was given 93 points from The International Wine Cellar.
Nefarious: This was our 10th Anniversary bottling and was named somewhat in honor of our previous place of employ. If you do the math you will realize that 2008 was only our 9th vintage. The Anniversary spoken of is the 10 year anniversary of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre (aka the day we were, ahem, no longer employed at said former employer). 153 cases of this wine were made. The bulk of it came from an old section of our Estate Vineyard fermented with 65% whole clusters and then rounded out with barrels from two Dundee Hill Vineyards. The wine was given 94 points by The International Wine Cellar.
Freedom Hill Vineyard Perspicacious Cuvee: This is a 3 barrel bottling (74 cases) from one fermenter of Freedom Hill Vineyard Dijon 115 Clone. The wine was fermented with 100% whole clusters, pigeaged twice daily solely by the winemaker and topped only with the fourth barrel that the fermenter produced to ensure its purity. The wine has yet to be released. This is a dense, deep, intensely structured and incredibly complex Pinot Noir that will take years to evolve but will be a rewarding wine at nearly any point of consumption. This is, to date, my favorite wine to come from our cellar.

The three ‘big guns’ auction items are going up now, to give them all-day exposure!
I doubt we will see anyone else here on this. If you find this in the spirit of things on this board I will do 1 for both of you at the 520. Everyone wins including the board itself. If not we can just honor the highest bid. Chime in anyone involved. Perhaps someone was looking to snake at the last moment which is a time honored auction maneuver of course. If not be happy to make everyone happy.
