Excited to see the interest in this outstanding vintage of 100% Estate grown Falcone Cabernet. Our Cabernets age well - just opened a 2003 Cabernet 4 months ago and it was aromatic - fruity, deeply colored and had a long finish begging for another sip. Our vineyard produces velvety tannins and a nice amount of acid for longevity. We try not to interfere with this and carefully guide the wine to bottle. 2013 was a BOLD year on California’s central coast - thicker skins = more flavor, tannin & color. Not to be confused with high alcohol - our 2013 CS came in balanced at 14.4% alcohol because we put a tiny amount of water on the vines during the hottest days of September to keep sugar down until seeds and flavors mature. Harvested Sept. 22nd.
