Finally jumped in with the three bottle min. Two CIX and a Eastside.
Same experience here. The only 2022 I opened and liked immediately is the CIX.
I see the next release will be January 13th. Aubert is perhaps my favorite domestic Chardonnay producer. Having said that, with their 6 bottle minimum purchase, I’ve now amassed 50 bottles. For me, that’s a lot of bottles for one Chardonnay producer that has bottle prices $100+. I’d be ok with a couplie bottles but the 6 bottle minimum is getting irksome for me.
I asked 4 of my local wine friends who have also bought Aubert in the past. They’re in the same boat, they have a full cellar, they have plenty of Aubert, they don’t even seem to be up for 1 or 2 bottles and don’t plan on buying.
If anyone in the Twin Cities MN is interesting in splitting my order, please let me know.
Our Spring 2026 wine allocations will be available beginning Tuesday, January 13th at 9:00 am PST. This release is for our following 2024 Single Vineyard Chardonnays:
2024 Lauren Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
2024 CIX Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
2024 Powder House Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
2024 Sugar Shack Estate Napa Valley Chardonnay
2024 Eastside Vineyard Russian River Chardonnay
2024 Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay
2024 UV-SL Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
These are very good wines but agree on the costs and also stopped buying. I just opened a 19’ Lauren and it was top notch. Down to 29 more bottles
I just checked and I have 60 bottles. I love the wines, but I don’t need any more (and it doesn’t help that my wife isn’t very into them).
This doesn’t help the situation, but I’m hearing 2024 Chardonnay in Napa and Sonoma is incredible across the board. 2024 Eastside is going to be very hard to turn down this vintage.
My release date is Jan. 8, 2026
If they do the thing where they eventually lower the minimum to 4 I might be in - cellar is overstuffed and plenty of it is Aubert
I’m in this situation. I’m not up for 6+, I can maybe tolerate 4.
I’ll have to try to take a picture of one of my friend Joe’s wine cabinets tomorrow night. He’s been clicking Max purchase on Aubert, Peter Michael and Kistler Chardonnay since getting on those lists in the early 90’s
That’s great for you and him, but does he have any CamX or DN wine
???
lol. Not a single bottle. Would be happy to try one, but not gonna fill a cellar spending hundreds If not, thousandsof dollars a year storing mystery wine
Prices for this vintage:

2024 CIX Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay $125 $315 mag
2024 Powder House Estate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay $115 $290 mag
2024 Sugar Shack Estate Napa Valley Chardonnay $115 $290 mag

Amex loved my order.
As I stated, the minimum of 7 is a no-go for me. I can maybe tolerate 4.
Agree, 7 is a no-go… I would be up for 3 if you want to split.
I have a friend that has been hitting the buy allocation button here for over 30 years. He celebrated his 70th birthday last year. I wonder what he did this year? I guess I’ll find out Friday night when I’m over his house for dinner and wine. I’ll ask him over a glass of Aubert, Peter Michael or Kistler Chardonnay. He’s been hitting those buttons also and he opens a bottle of one of those every single Friday night. Sometimes two ![]()
I went in for the 7 as I do really enjoy the wine but I sent them a note expressing my frustration with the minimum and letting them know that I would be a less reliable buyer going forward given the minimum requirements. It must work for them but add minimum to price increases (wine and shipping) and it really makes me sit back and consider the value-not just of Aubert but for most mailing list wines.
Kistler was released today, minimum purchase was 1 bottle… yes shipping is not discounted but still.
I had a 4 bottle min, but did not get offered Lauren or Sugar Shack, picked up a couple of CIX and Eastside. Happy with that.
7 bottles for me. Good Lord. Last spring was my first order. Haven’t even cracked a bottle yet since I understand they need some time.
7 is such a silly number for wine purchases too
