It is weird that one customer has a 7 bottle minimum and others have a 4 bottle minimum. My account still shows 7 bottle minimum. I recall hearing that they lowered the minimum last year at some point.
Edit - The wife also has an Aubert account, and her minimum order is 6. So 4, 6, 7 and 9? WTF?
I’ve been buying for over 10 years (with a one year pause) and my account says 9 bottle minimum. I checked again and it says 7. Hmmm. I swear it originally said 9.
My best guess is that the minimum bottle requirement is tied to both a) how much you have purchased in the past, and b) how many of the wines they are giving you access to. I skipped the last few offerings and, like John above, I have a 4-bottle minimum, but also access to only UV-SL, Eastside and CIX.
I guess the wine sale business isn’t as bad as everyone claims, since there is now a minimum bottle order on Aubert. I have long said that wineries can all for their wine however they want and I will decide how to allocate in my dollars. However, this one strains credulity, especially since I have been buying Aubert since the 2004 vintage. Oh well.
I love the wines and appreciate them tempting me to buy from the current offering. But I have quite a stash of Aubert in my cellar and went big on the ‘23. Now is time to cut back.
I have been a buyer for 15 years as my wife loves them. And while they aren’t really the style of wine I generally gravitate towards, I must admit that they are well made and generally enjoyable, for what they are. But, our cellar is quite full and this will not be making the cut this year.
It seems that missing an offering doesn’t necessarily kick you out of future ones—is this correct?
As a data point, I last ordered in January 2024 and the last release offering I got was January 2025. So, skipping Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 seems to have gotten me removed from the list.
I got the 7 bottle minimum offer and had access to every wine in fairly decent quantities. I was allocated 4 bottles of Lauren and a few different magnums including Sugar Shack. I landed on taking a CIX magnum.
