Atlanta

Heading to Atlanta next week for the football NCAA championship. Staying downtown and looking for a restaurant recommendation for Monday lunch with a strong wine list particularly white burg. I know lunch and a Monday limits options. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks and Go Irish!

you’re out of luck on this one player, there are only a few spots that could be considered deep in Burgundy and none of those will be open for lunch, much less on a Monday. Blue Ridge Grill would be a solid option as well as The Chastain, but those are in Buckhead. Downtown is a good restaurant desert.

Rumi’s Kitchen at the Colony Square location in Midtown has a pretty good wine list and is open for lunch. It’s middle eastern food and very good. If not wedded to wine, uber to Fox Bros BBQ!

Atlanta is BYO friendly so pack some WB in the suitcase. There’s not much in the way of good wine lists anywhere, but definitely not open Monday lunch.

This is mostly already mentioned, so just a chorus at this point. If you need a deep white burgundy list for a Monday lunch, then you probably won’t find it anywhere. Also if it has to be in downtown, then you won’t find many options, probably Rays on the River’s downtown location is about all that comes to mind. If you’re willing to go to midtown or Buckhead, then the world is your oyster. I would recommend literally any of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group’s places. I love South City Kitchen for lunch.

I would second Rumi’s but I don’t recommend Fox Bros. Otherwise you can google to your heart’s content to find lots of BYOB friendly places with reasonable corkage fees. I hope you enjoy everything except the final score

You might check Oceanaire or Brasserie Margot (in the Four Seasons) as both offer Monday lunch - they are in midtown. Have had good food, but unsure about their Wine List - as others suggest BYO may be your best White Burg option in ATL.

It’s a bit of a drive from downtown, but Canoe could be a decent option and their wine list is OK.

Looking for an Omakase spot in ATL. Based on what I’ve found looking at Mujo and Omakase Table. Anyone been to one or both and willing to share any intel?

I was just in Atlanta last week and poured at a “private” wine club that has an Omakase restaurant next door to it called Ryokou. They’re both super new and word is that the restaurant is excellent. I don’t think the Vine Club is completely private, you can obviously check with them, and they had a good and building selection. I have not been to the restaurant but tasted with the buyer at the club and it all seemed way legit.

can’t go wrong, they’re Michelin starred.
