Weinboxes are like milk crates and won’t keep dust out. You need boxes from Vine Vault.

I have two rooms and one is exposed earth under the old part of the house so more protection would be better for longer storage wines.
I do like the idea of the Weinboxes because of the accessibility without unstacking for more short term storage though. I would like to keep the blue chips in good condition, but I don’t really care much about label condition on ~half of it.
You should use plastic sleeves for the weinboxes. Ill look for a link.

These Sterilite filing crates (WalMart & Target) are perfect for standard Bordeaux bottles. Can usually fit 12-16 depending on how many high you stack them. Napa cab bottles are just a touch too tall but will fit if you squeeze them.

That would work for a dusty environment. These just keep the glass from breaking, probably unnecessary for weinboxes.
These Sterilite crates look interesting. Any idea how much weight they can handle on top? The one thing I like about wooden cases and weinboxes is that I’m comfortable stacking them 5-6 high. I am rapidly running out of room so thats why I’m gradually moving to weinboxes since they claim they can be stacked 10 high. However, I’m very skeptical that the bottom box in a 10 high stack can handle 360lbs (160kg).
Bringing this thread back to life as I’m considering buying some Weinboxes.
For anyone who has purchased from Amazon, do the Weinboxes arrive flattened? Just trying to get an idea of how massive this shipping box is going to be…
They come flattened in shrink wrapped pack of 3.

I would suggest contacting UOVO Wine regarding weinboxes. Depending on the quantity, they might give you a bulk purchase discount. And they are shipped flat or unassembled…

For what it’s worth, I arranged a bulk order from Domaine (predecessor to Uovo) a few years ago. We ordered 100 boxes to hit a volume discount level. The discount wasn’t much and, in the end, the shipping cost per box was somehow higher than just ordering at regular price (the boxes were large and heavy), which offset most of the discount. Now when I need more I just order from Amazon.
Better late than never…
I’ve got them 4 high at the storage facility and move them in and out every so often for the past 4 years. Remarkably sturdy, no problems yet.
I compared shipping between Domaine and Amazon a few years ago and the difference was negligible. The boxes were less expensive at Domaine. Granted I’m not an Amazon prime member…

Just ordered six.
My tiny cellar is overrun at this point, with a few more cases of ordered wine still to be delivered.
And I haven’t yet ordered more iOTA.
And then there is the upcoming Berserker Day.
And my liver-related blood test results have interfered with my consumption rate and ongoing cellar inventory reduction efforts.

PSA, anyone looking for the “Burgundy”-colored Weinboxes, UOVO still had some as of yesterday. I originally ordered six from Amazon back in November 2024, but finally caved yesterday to the realization I need more of them, and Amazon (and every other supplier other than UOVO) has only the black option.
How high are you guys comfortable stacking these things?
