Bought a bunch of these to make it easier to temporarily store bottles from a rack I need to empty to provide maintenance access to the wine room evaporator. Seems like a rite of passage is to destroy the first box while figuring out how to put it together. Apparently I tried to do it backwards. Tip is to immediately toss the instructions and go watch a YouTube video.
I like the lay flat boxes. Maybe 8 high, depends on if you can get flush to a wall.
For 6 years, I have had 21+ stacked as high as 7 without issue. That run of luck includes the Mrs.pulling a stack apart because she didn’t know how to find the wine she was looking for while I was out of town.

Weinboxes are terrific for our storage unit. I have 160 of them now, give or take. Most are along a wall, but I do have a freestanding group seven wide stacked eight high, with zip ties connecting the top box of each column to the one next to it. It’s very stable.
My first six Weinboxes, I stacked them 3-high. I’ve got a little nook in my primitive cellar where I easily will go 4-high, as there will be only a few inches of airspace either side of the stack. My only concern isn’t with the strength/integrity of the Weinboxes when stacked higher, but instead I worry about bumping into a stack and knocking it over, as I maneuver around my relatively tight-spaced cellar.
I’ve been using something almost identical to that for two-plus years now in my cellar (six Weinboxes high) with no problems. The ones I ordered show no longer available but they are essentially identical to that and have a 400 lb limit too. Just be careful when moving them around!

My previous order of 6, I managed to put them together without much trouble. Read the directions, etc.
So, being male and considering myself and old pro now, I started in on my recent order of them, just glancing at the picture (the one with all the non-English directions) and made the mistake of attaching one of those end pieces to the base, facing the wrong direction. Took me ten minutes getting it detached, bruised my thumb in the process. 
In all seriousness, if one simply reads the directions, they go together very easily and pretty quickly once you’ve done one or two. Great product.

Any of you Weinbox users ever have one go cattywampus/out-of-square on you? Of my 15, just one of them seems not quite right. It sits on top, in a stack of three of them, so I am not overly concerned. More, just curious.
How do you guys physically arrange your bottles in your Weinbox stacks?
Been wrestling with this issue for a while now and decided that rather than try to arrange anything chronologically or alphabetically, I’m going to assign a value to one of the 12 spaces in the box(es) and that space will have a corresponding value in a spreadsheet. That way I can just fill them arbitrarily, and keep track, without having to constantly move bottles (or boxes) around. A lot of work, at first, but I can’t seem to think of anything else. Suggestions welcome
That’s exactly what I have done. Each unit is labeled WB ###, and then it’s filled. It’s worked well enough and I’ve not had reason to change the system.
Use CT of course.
Spreadsheet? Why not pen and paper? Or how about stone tablet and chisel?
Just use CT, my man.

Does CT have a Weinbox option?
I mean the actual physical location of each bottle. I guess I’m missing something. 
Edit: NM, I think I got it. Guess it’s time to upgrade my CT membership…
When I was using Weinboxes, I didn’t do anything to track the bottle location within each box. The boxes aren’t so big that I found a need to do that. I just gave each box a number, which corresponded to the bin number in CT. No attempt to sort or organize which box any given bottle goes into. If the box has room, the bottle goes in, and the location is stored in CT. I never wanted to have to do the kind of reshuffling that would be required to maintain some kind of organizational system. As long as CT can tell me which box it’s in, I can find any bottle within a minute or two.

My cellar likely is way smaller/more “manageable” (700 bottles or so) and less “diverse” than the cellars of many other posters, but all I do is use a note card with “2021 PGC” or “2021 Goodfellow” etc. written on it, and then slide the note card into that hand slot. Easy peasy.
