Just wondering if anyone has visited the winery and had a chance to taste the 2022 Spring release wines. The prerelease offer is out now and the general release starts on Feb 5.
Their portfolio is too big. It’s been hard to narrow down favorites. From this release just taking Eastside and Westside. Those have been consistently good.
So much this. I bought from them for a few years a long time ago, but getting (back then) the giant letter with dozens of wines and you were allocated 0-2 of most of them, trying to figure what on earth to order, that process just never clicked with me.
I had the same question. Haven’t had the '22s. Yes, a huge list with Cab now too (still wrapping my head around that). I’m an old timer on the list there, mostly for sentimental reasons, but just buy enough to stay on and to be able to visit when in Sonoma. Besides Westside, I usually stick with Russian River for relative QPR and Allen for the tried and true.
I’ve been on since 1991, and still have several bottles left of the wonderful
Burt Williams wines. Although I lean more to Oregon for domestic PN these days, my family loves the richness of WS and the Rochioli’s, so I buy some to have them around. But I agree…so many vineyards with WS with relatively small allocations of each makes me just buy a few here and there.
Will be up there tasting in about 3 weeks. I’ll post a trip report when I’m back.
Did the same thing. I also buy the Rochioli Riverblock in the fall release.
Any update? WS Order window is closing.
