Malort in Chicago…?
Really? Mostly AV stuff (or cameras), in my experience. That would be a LOT of handguns and it’s not long enough in any dimensions for long guns…
I have brought wine with me in a checked bag to Mexico a few times with no issue at all. Both times it was EWR to CAN.
Nope.
I understand that Malort is the beverage of choice with the placenta-looking casserole mess they call pizza, and I don’t eat that shit either.
I don’t see the 1650 as a model used for firearms on their web site right now but their core business is manufacturing cases for firearms and they bought out their main competitor Storm several years back.
Love Merida. No rule of law in Mexico. The law is the one the person that clears you on entry sets at that moment.
Pelican started out serving scuba divers. Today they make lots of protective cases for lots of things, but it’s a stretch to say that their “core business” is gun cases. I’ve used their cases for photo gear for 30+ years.
Guess I really only know them for their firearms business, they sell a ton of these cases to Uncle Sam and law enforcement agencies. I stand corrected. Thanks.
did you get a custom foam insert for wine or cut out yourself?
Purchased one. Just googled Pelican 1650 wine insert and bought something — seems fine as far as quality and fit was perfect.
In Singapore, he’d be happy to oblige, and the receipt/calculation would be correct.

My background is in the marine sciences, and I’ve used Pelican cases since I was in graduate school. Pelican is known not only for their products for the marine environment, but scientists in many non-marine fields have used these cases to protect scientific/medical/audiovisual equipment from dust, moisture, baggage handlers, etc. Of course Pelican cases can be used to protect anything, but guns are certainly not what come first to mind, at least not my mind. I own both a shotgun and rifle for hunting (I dislike handguns with a passion), and have aluminum cases for those.
You ended up in China!
LOL. I meant CUN. Cancun.
