Anyone had the 94 and/or the 95 Lynch Bages recently?

Any thoughts?

Had the 94 tonight at a tasting. Classic bordeaux nose, good attack but tired in the mid palate and short. As it warmed up the green pepper really became prominent. Nice but not memorable.

It’s been a while since my last bottle, but the 1995 Lynch Bages should be in a very good place right now with no great hurry to consume it.

Had both just a few weeks back as it happens: the '94 started off smelling more interesting, high toned in the mouth, but fell away a bit; the '95 started a bit pongy and tight, opened to mainly cigar box, very decent taste and length (though not exceptional).

Had the 94 two years ago and the wine was as Carlos described. In particular, the finish was short and dry. In the same league, '94 Leoville Barton and LMHB are much better choices on the left bank.

thx!

Wow, I had the 94 LMHB a couple years ago and it was tighter than a… well, let’s just say it was tight. HB was really nice though.

Well, I had the LMHB 3 and 1 year ago and both times the wine was in a better form then you experienced Craig. But I agree that it will get better and softer with time.
Just to be clear, I was trying to make the point that for me Leoville Barton and LMHB are of higher quality in 94 compared to Lynch Bages (excluding the comparison with first growths).
