Bruce:
I mentioned the points in the context that a 99 point first growth is gonna cost a couple of bucks, and you’d think I’d remember buying it. When I reviewed the TN’s, RMP compared it to the 85 which I found to be a lovely wine, so I can see WHY I bought it, just don’t remember actually doing it.

Bob–I do hope you realize my comment was meant very tongue-in-cheek. On those occasions when I’ve found wine in my cellar I didn’t realize I had, I do look it up: did I find a valuable diamond, or just another *&^%$#! bottle I’ll simply have to drink and enjoy…?
This is exactly the reason that option exists! It’s always been my favorite due to it being kind of a double entendre…“presumed drunk” is a fair assumption if i’ve lost track of the bottle.
i am in the process of moving my cellar, so first time i have properly inventoried in 15 years, the are about 62 missing presumed drunk bottles so far, funny that most are my wifes favorites.
with my own cellaring begun a meer three years ago, I know I’ve already lost 2-3 bottles. Of course all my wine is kept in my aunt’s cellar because my apartment closet isn’t the best place.
2 bottles 1975 Conseillante. I know they’re in there somewhere. I also lost a bottle of 2002 Pahlmeyer and a few other items in the Memphis airport, but they were stolen.
I did a pretty thorough inventory this winter, but still can’t find one box. This box contain(ed?):
1 1992 Churchill Porto Vintage Quinta da Agua Alta
1 1992 Fonseca Porto Vintage
1 1997 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage
