Looking for feedback on vintages 08,09,10, and 11 of Continuum. Any info will be appreciated.
I have had very good luck with the 08, 09, and 10 vintages. Really enjoyed the wines. I thought they were fairly accessible early, but built to age. I happily buy them on restaurant lists when I see them and want a Cali Cabernet.
I haven’t opened any of mine but drank 09 with Carissa in June of '12.
It was spectacular.
I haven’t tasted any recently, but I found the 2011 exceptional. 98% of the fruit was estate grown. The first two vintages were Tokalon fruit, but when Constellation changed course Tim has been slowly moving to 100% estate fruit, which he reached in 2012. I haven’t targeted the little-known second wine, Novicium, but expect it is interesting and helps elevate the top cuvée. Rather than copy/paste large amounts of text, here are links to my blog about the 2011 and 2007-2009 if you’re interested. And for added reading my SOMM journal article on Pritchard Hill. Those may prove helpful and informative, or not…
I’ve enjoyed the 09 and 10. I think it is pretty tasty CA CS. Undoubtedly Napa, but not hyper-spoofed. Good stuff.
I had the 2010 a few months ago and it was wonderful even though we opened it unplanned and it got little air. Rich deep red fruit. Glad I have some in my cellar.
