Maybe quality is equivalent but their style has nothing in common with AT. Who else does that style of wine on a budget?
I swear, I opened the offer, looked at the wines, them when the price came up my first thought was âfor how many bottles?â
No one. I am not a buyer, but I have tasted some of these wines (earlier vintages), and thereâs nothing else like them. I can understand that for people who love these, they could be worth the prices because there is no replacement.
the most expensive white
I think youâre right-- thatâs highest Iâve seen. For reds Domaine Serene likes to be a top $ as far as I know-- the ânew releaseâ of the 2019 Monogram Pinot Noir is $405 for example (weblink) (supported by a 99pt score from Owen Bargreen which frankly I had never heard of)
I love the wines and the experience, but I am priced out of both. Wish 'em luck.

When I got my first rose offer from them I called and asked if it was for a 3 pack.
âNo, itâs per bottleâ.
âokaaay, thaaank youuuuuu - byeâ.
How much is their rosé, I dread to ask?

Wow. Thatâs bonkers.

I believe its $150 per bottle based on this:

That said, some of the logic does not make sense - she claims she gets 4 barrels or ~240 gallons from a one ton fermenter - or am I missing something? @Adam_Frisch ?
Cheers
No wonder the accountant is confused
Yes, for reds we typically get 2.5 barrels per ton sometimes a touch more, sometimes less. I have never heard of anyone getting 4 barrels (240 gal) per ton on Pinot in the Valley. But I think her point remains that she is only using the free run for the roseâ and she implies that the remainder is not pressed for other uses, nor added to red ferments. That said, I would not have thought that the lost press fractions after 4 or 5 days of maceration would not represent a full 60% of the expected (2.5 barrels) but I havenât been down this path⊠(if my quick math is right)
I believe the Angelicall Rose is $175 and the Luciferin is $250. And these wines seem to sell out first. I will say, the Angelicall is an incredible Rose. Josh Reynolds has some great tasting notes on this wine over the years on the Vinous platform.
It must have been the Luciferin that lead me to ask the winery. I probably wouldnât have at $150/bottle, and these days any price point rarely surprises me anymore.
