Anthill Farms 2009 Fall Release

2007 Abbey Harris Pinot $48
2007 Windsor Oaks Syrah $25
2007 Timber Crest Farms Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon $25

I was only allocated 1 of the Abbey Harris. It was estimate that production was only 100 cases +/-. Regardless, I wish-listed for 3 more, but I don’t have high hopes. Picked up 5 of the Windsor Oaks Syrah, which IMO is underrated and delicious. Give me elegant and food-friendly CA syrah–I’m there. I really enjoy syrah made by pinot producers.

Just logged onto the order system, and it says the Abbey Harris is Sold Out. Not sure if it’s because I already placed my order or if it actually sold out that quickly.

I ordered 2-2-2 and wishlisted 3 more of the A-H PN. I really like this producer.

I wish listed 3 of the AH as well. Hopefully there will be at least one more available. Based on replies over on that other board, there seem to be a few people passing on the 1 bottle allocation, so perhaps there’s hope. According to Web, just not enough wine to go around this year. Apparently they attempted to distribute the AH widely across the list so many would have an allocation, hence the many 1 bottle allocations.

Did you receive a mailer or just email?

I don’t have my pin to order. Very odd.

Just reset it - I am all good.

Anyone tasted the 2007 Anthill Farms Cab? Looks like a worthy try…

Ordered one of the Abbey Harris and 3 of the Syrah. Wishlist 3 more PN, but not holding my breath.
The Syrah sounds like a good drink at $25. [cheers.gif]

If you like syrah that is bright, light and food-friendly, you will like it. Similar to a Scherrer or the 2006 Sandler. Definitely made with the touch of a pinot producer. Not necessarily complex or thought provoking, but definitely tasty. These impressions are from a few bottles of the 2006, so knowing that vintage, perhaps the 2007’s might have a bit more structure/complexity?

I have not had their Syrah, but look forward to trying. Your comment on the 2007 vintage is why I went in on this wine. I drink a lot of Syrah, most of it is the full throttle Central Coast variety. Either way, $25 is a good price point if the wine is good. [berserker.gif]

You did exactly what I did – right down to the wish list. It was my first go-round with Anthill as a list member, and I assumed I was allocated only one bottle of the PN because I had no track record. Reading some of the comments from other list members, I now feel fortunate to have been allocated even the one bottle. I am looking forward to trying the Syrah too.

Nice. [welldone.gif]

Maybe time to revive this to get info.
I’m bit older to the list and was offered 2 AH. I ordered those 2, 8 cabs and begged for another 2 AH. My impression was that things were winding down with orders so maybe we have a shot at getting a few of those extras.
All in all I’d like to say that I find it nice and refreshing that they are trying to offer the AH to everyone. For comparison I’ve been on Rhys since 15 months before the first offering and there have been plenty of Rhys bottlings where my allocation was 0.

Looks like I was lucky! Got my two extra AF. Yum, Yum. To me this is one of the very best CA PNs.

Peter,
Lucky you are. Did you get an email?

Andrew, Yes, but only just now. They are probably going through the requests at the moment.
