Another "Top #" Beer list

I actually like this one!!!

Top 25 Beers 2015 | Wine Enthusiast" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I get this mag now and saw that list. You are right Jorge, they actually did a really good job. No list is perfect, but there are some solid beers on there.

Don’t get me started.

I’ve only had a few from the list (Fullers, Stone Imperial, and Napa-Smith Amber) and haven’t even heard of a lot of those guys. I gotta get out more often!

Feel free to start. I’m all ears. [stirthepothal.gif]

So I wrote a huge diatribe and then went back and read their intro. There went most of my arguments. So I’ll fall on my sword. I do have one specific issue with this list. When your top 25 includes a beer described as “slight metallic skunkiness”, you begin to think that maybe they only tried 25 beers.

Pick your favorite cop out:

We had some killer categories this year (Stout, IPA, Barleywine, just to name a few) that racked up some truly outstanding scores, but not all of those top-scoring beers will appear in this list in the interest of fairly representing the diversity that exists in the beer world today. We also went beyond simple evaluation of numeric scores and pricing and also considered availability, buzz and balance.

That sounds like the WS Top 100 wines criteria.

Yet another mention of the Alaskan smoked Porter. I like that but it just pretty good.

I don’t get the used wine barrel aged beers from RRBC. That is all.
