Anderson Valley Piont Noir festival- May 20-22

Its that time of year again. I promised a few WB’ers I would be more timely with the post this year as we have a few last minute folks looking for tickets after they had sold out. Tickets are now on sale. http://www.avwines.com/anderson-valley-pinot-noir-festival/

Friday is the technical conference during the day 9-4:30. There will be multiple seminars many with tasting components. There will also be a light breakfast and full lunch provided. This takes place at the Fairgrounds in Boonville.

Friday night is the casual BBQ at Pennyroyal Farms in Boonville, 5-8pm. Great food and music and a good time to mingle with most winemakers who will be pouring over the weekend. Many will just walk there from the technical conference, lucky for me my winery and tasting room are about half way between both.

Saturday is the Grand Tasting. Limited to just 650 tickets (which will sell out) and a few over 50 wineries this event is not crowded or as busy as most events that take place in the counties to the south of us. Plenty of parking just a few minute walk from the tent. Lots of great food and music. This event is behind the Goldeneye tasting room where they have cleared a spot in the middle if the vineyard for the tent and the event.

Saturday night there are 2 winemaker dinners. They will sell out fast.

Sunday are open houses at each tasting room in the valley. We will be doing our usual 800+ oysters and 2 whole legs of hand carved on demand prosciutto among other snacks. I will have new releases as well as some library wines open.

If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out. I am pretty sure at this point the lodging in the valley is booked up. We had a great response from press this year and the winegrowers booked every last room they could find to house them. There are many other options 30-45 minutes away and there are a few driving servisces and a couple of cab companies that will do transportation over the weekend for those who need it. There are DD tickets for the Grand Tasting so that is a option as well.

Hope to see even more WB’s up here than I say last year [cheers.gif]
