We will be in Andalusia in first half of November. Would appreciate any recommendations for wineries to visit, restaurants to eat or anything else interesting to do.
We will be staying in Seville and Granada for sure and maybe one other town.
Consider a visit or stay in Ronda. A dramatic town on the edge of a deep gorge. Bodega Joaquin Fernandez is an interesting winery nearby. Wife and I very much enjoyed our time there as well as the surrounding area.
If you like seafood, well-executed, with sufficiently-good selection of drinks, then this is your spot in Seville. As usual, reserve well ahead as this is a small venue.
Thank you, Mark. I have been planning visiting Ronda just as a day trip. Do you think it’s worth spending in it a night or two? I will have 8 nights in total in Andalusia.
We rented a car in Porto, spent time there and in Lisbon before our travel to Ronda. At that point we wanted to have a relaxing few days to just chill and explore at our leisure. So we stayed at a laidback farm hotel (Finca la Guzmana) just 5 miles from Ronda for several days. I think, if you just wish to see the common sites in Ronda (historical center, bullring, New Bridge, etc.), a day trip would be fine. However there are white villages and the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves to explore and we also enjoyed hiking below the New Bridge. From there we drove north for a couple nights stay in beautiful Toledo, then on to Barcelona to catch a flight home. Enjoy your time in Andalucía!
We are just back from Andalucia. Thank you all again for recommendations.
We really had a good time. Granada and Ronda are fabulous. We also enjoyed white villages around Ronda.
@LoriMcLaughlin I know you going to be there in December.
Here are additional restaurants we really liked:
Granada - Vino y Rosas Home Food.
Seville - Vuela Tapas & Cocktail
Grazalema - Restaurante Cádiz El Chico
Ronda - Tragatá | Benito Gómez | Restaurante en Ronda
I also recommend to do white villages drive.
The best were Grazalema, Zahara, and Setenil.
We visited few wineries. I recommend Bodega Gonzalo Beltrán Finca La Nogalera
And olive oil farm/museum - LA Almazara - LA Organic
