The Detroit Lions won their first game in a year. A rookie named Amon-ra St Brown caught the winning pass. I immediately wondered if he had a back story like Margaux Hemingway who was named for the wine her parents drank the night she was conceived I’m just happy the Lions won.
Still like the 2003 Amon-Ra! The only wine I ever bought from a local wine shop in Minneapolis called France 44. The only good deal I have ever seen. That is back when my hair was jet black.
Was watching with my mom and said they had too much time on the clock for my liking. Typical Vikings.
According to the latest Golodetz podcast, Amon-Ra isn’t a real god anyway, because ancient Egypt was just a metaphor.
He has a brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, who plays for Green Bay. Below is from Wiki.
He has two younger brothers, Osiris and Amon-Ra; both are wide receivers. The three brothers’ last name is St. Brown, while their parents’ last name is Brown. Osiris plays for the Stanford Cardinal[27] and was previously a four-star recruit coming out of Mater Dei High School in California,[28][29] while Amon-Ra played for USC[30] before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 2021 NFL Draft.[31] Their father, John, is a former Mr. Universe.[
John Brown back in the DAY!
Still bathing in the Lions win! We will probably all need to savor this until next season.
FWIW, the crowd at SoFi on Sunday erupted when they played the replay of the final TD. Was nice to see as the end to the Steelers game was extremely frustrating, lol
Whoa, how long ago?
It’s hilarious too that he changed the kids’ last name from Brown to St. Brown, as if it weren’t fancy enough that they were named Equanimeous, Amon Ra and Osiris.
A friend sent me this:
Their full names are Equanimeous Tristan Imhotep J. St. Brown, Osiris Adrian Amon-Ra J. St. Brown and Amon-Ra Julian Heru J. St. Brown.
During his bodybuilding career, John Brown spent a lot of time in Europe, where he met his future wife, German native Miriam Steyer. She speaks only German at home to her sons and enrolled them in a French academy in the Los Angeles area for elementary school. (According to Bleacher Report, during one summer vacation in Germany, national team officials asked if 5-year-old Amon-Ra wanted to enter the German youth soccer program.) The brothers hold dual citizenship in the United States and Germany and took the SAT in English, German and French, and Equanimeous and Amon-Ra announced their college commitments in all three languages.
(I assume the bit about the French and German SAT refers to the “SAT subject test” in each of those, as opposed to taking the actual SAT in those languages - I don’t think that’s actually an option.)
That’s what happened to my sister, Apple Ripple. I’m just glad that they dropped the Mogen from my name.
Congrats on the Lions. I abandoned them 40 years ago. Lot of frozen-ass losing Thanksgiving games at Tiger Stadium
What a dissapointment! I thought this about Ben Glaetzer Shiraz Amon-Ra from Barossa Valley. That is one beautiful Shiraz!
