AMEX Premium Car Rental Protection (PCRP) In France

Has anyone used this for their car rental insurance coverage in France. I get somewhat confused by how the companies package and price various levels of protection. There was a time when some level of rental car insurance was automatically in every AMEX card, but I think I need to enroll in this PCRP , and then decline any collision and theft in the reservation and at the counter, just like the old days. Any confirmation or clarification would help me?

Enroll before the rental starts and you are correct about waiving other coverage. Just went through this where I had my car in the shop and got a rental only to have a rock take a chunk out of the rental windshield, confirmed you must be enrolled before the start of the rental agreement. Luckily it was only $50 to cover the cost of the windshield.

You are always (I.e.,automatically) covered up to $75,000 when you use your platinum card to pay for a rental and decline the damage waiver. Premium insurance is supplemental coverage, not sure if there are other conditions where it is required vs the basic coverage.

The free coverage is secondary to your car insurance, unlike the CSR.

Or CSP. (And I think cap one one venture X).

Doesn’t matter internationally for regular auto coverage but a big deal domestically.

Thanks for the straightforward answer.

Why do you need the premium coverage? Renting a Mercedes 7 series?

I though I Sanchez had the right answer.
