Anyone ever stayed at the Ritz on Amelia Island? Heading there in May with the wife, and was looking for any recommendations on restaurants / things to do during the day/night since we’ll be there for 6 days.
I’ve stayed there but it was so long ago I wouldn’t be any help. Sorry.
I’d take a boat to Cumberland Island to just walk around. Be sure to pack a lunch.
Yes, I have stayed there. Do you have kids? Or just the two of you?
I like the Ritz, but with my kids I prefer the Omni down the street.
Either way both properties have multiple restaurants. Check out Marche Burrette at the Omni on Friday and Saturday nights. It used to be Friday was shrimp boil and Saturday was steak night, but I think both have been converted to steak night. Sit outside on the patio, overlooking the small lake, listening to live music, while the food grills and it’s one of my favorite places on earth. I cannot count the number good memories I have from this spot. And I always BYOB. It’s $10 if I recall and they only charged me about half the time.
The town is Fernandina Beach. It’s cute with lots of whimsical shops. However, six days is long time. We always only went for 2-3 nights. If you play golf, then there are plenty of courses. Or rent some e-bikes from SuperCorsa Cycles and explore the paved trail and area. The paved trail is also good for walking / hiking / running. Plenty of beach to lie on, but I can only do that for a half day. If you want to run into Jacksonville you can, but it is 45 minutes away.
I know there are one or two wine shops, but I cannot help you there, since we always drove from Orlando I always brought my own wine.
It’s just my wife and I. We’re celebrating our “baby moon”.
Ahhhh, congratulations!
Please post impressions.
We have golf privileges there and are considering a visit.
Scott - not sure the specifics but a few friends who have tried to get the recip through Concert have had difficulty.
Nothing venture, nothing gained.
We have dear wino friends in Jax, so we’ll drink well anyway…
We have yet to try concert other than our home clubs.
Agree. I had success getting on a number of Concert courses.
