Allocations of Julian Haart, Peter Lauer, Hermann Ludes

I have small allocations (usually just a case or two) of the following rieslings. Thanks for looking.

Julian Haart, Piesport

“Julian Haart apprenticed with Egon Müller and Klaus Peter Keller. That’s like learning to draw under da Vinci and Picasso.” - Vom Boden

500x500

2022 Julian Haart Mosel Riesling (Dry) “1000L”

This is legally Trocken and sourced from 25-year-old vines in the Grand Cru Goldtröpfchen vineyard. The “1,000L” is so-named because it is a wine that was, originally, a chosen Fuder – a 1,000L barrel. The entire barrel was bought, and that was that. The wine is always brisk, tense with high-toned citrus, good minerality.

Peter Lauer, Saar

“In these great and exceedingly rare wines of the Saar, there is a combination of qualities which I can perhaps best describe as indescribable – austerity coupled with delicacy and extreme finesse, an incomparable bouquet, a clean, very attractive hardness tempered by a wealth of fruit and flavor which is overwhelming.” - Frank Schoonmaker

500x281

2022 Peter Lauer Spatlese Ayler Kupp, Fass 7

Smoky and finely herbal on the nose, it delivers notes of anise, minty herbs, vineyard peach, jasmine, rose, lavender, and green apple. The wine proves delicately smooth and rich on the nicely compact and focused palate. The finish is precise, clean, and full of energy. This is a splendid Spätlese. - MFW

2022 Peter Lauer Spatlese Ayler Kupp, “Kern”, Fass 9

The 2022er ‘Kern’ No. 9… offers a beautifully refined and herbal nose of wild spices, orange blossom, mint, lime, and white pepper, as well as slightly riper notes of vineyard peach candied grapefruit, and almond. The wine is superbly playful on the elegantly zesty and spicy palate. The finish proves energetic, refined, and straight. The after-taste is already dryish in style. This is a great just off-dry tasting Riesling. - MFW

Hermann Ludes, Thörnich

The average vine age here is about 75 years old, many of the vines are ungrafted. Every site they own in the Ritsch is inaccessible by any machine; terraced vineyards with walls at the top and the bottom. Absolutely everything must be done by hand.

2022 Hermann Ludes Mosel Riesling “Hermann”

The uncompromising style embracing acidity and finesse delivered wines of great vibrancy and cut yet with great aromatic depth, and this right from the entry level wine, the Riesling “Hermann.” In many ways, they are all cut from a hypothetical blend of Joh. Joh. Prüm’s early backwardness and Hofgut Falkenstein”s zing while embracing the delicacy and finesse from both estates.

2022 Hermann Ludes Riesling Kabinett Feinherb Gackes Oben

The “Gackes Oben” is sourced from a prime, central parcel of the Ritch, above the “Gackes,” which, you might imagine, is yet another word in the Mosel dialect for slate. The parcel is, literally, above a small wall of slate. These are the so called “younger” vines of 70 years old, mostly grafted and in the highest elevation of the vineyard at 220m where it is very windy, but also gets very direct sun.
