Would really like to contribute with Allemand from 96, 98, 99 and younger
Need to plan months ahead tho
For me the pinnacle of Syrah is Allemand although I have had zero Jamet Brune (or Landonne) and only one aged Chave

Certainly agree with Chave being the choice up through '00. Don’t have enough experience with the more recent wines to have an informed opinion.

But, yeah, both superb.

Love to a dinner–can bring some Juge!

I nominate Fu to bring the Cuvee Cathelin and the Sans Soufre. I’m poor, just have Juge 09-15, some in magnum format. My Allemands and Chaves are babies.

Meats, we will need a charter for this…

You know how @ToddFrench gets wiggy about his wines being stirred up from transit.

Twitchy AF!!

I’d be up for that as well.

You are uninvited!

Inconceivable

Not at all. It will be a wonderful event, and I’ll tag you on my tasting notes so it’s as if you were there…but you weren’t.

I prefer older Chave, but not sure how some of the recent releases (e.g. the 2019 @ 15% alcohol) are going to age.

I’m working now to see if we can put together a Berserker Battle Royale - Invasion of Northern Rhone - East versus West: put together two simultaneous events, that way the attendees are manageable numbers (for proper pours) by dividing it up. Could even do another region, if there’s enough demand.

Stand by…

Where does the Gulf Coast fit in?!

Again, if this gets going, we can have as many regions as there is demand!
